Additional Information
Ensure that all belongings are named, but PLEASE DO NOT NAME COSTUMES.
It is recommended to have a spare set of tights.
It is your responsibility at the end of the concert to check that your child has all their costumes. It is not the responsibility of the dressing room helpers to pack up and re-organise your belongings or check your costumes. Please make sure you have a list of their costume numbers to avoid any confusion (this must be included on the front of your costume bag). I understand at the end of the night show that it is late, we’re tired and ready to go home but you need to make the time to check for all your costumes and bits and pieces. Please make sure you come in and clean up around your child’s area as well (those parents that don’t have a bluecard will need to wait until your child is brought out the front and check this there).
Have your BDA concert shirt and BDA black shorts with you and named, be sure to bring them with you to Dress Rehearsal. These will be used to wear to run on and do bows, or if in finale dance. Everyone runs on in the finale for bows even if they haven’t learned the dance.
Water – Suitable water bottle to minimise lipstick re application.
Snacks – easy no messy/stain free snack to get them through.
Dancers should have a kit of supplies, this should include:
- Hairspray
- Bobby pins (make sure there is enough) – these are needed for hair pieces to be put in your child’s hair
- Safety pins
- Touch up make-up, especially LIPSTICK
There are so many years where students do not have bobby pins or safety pins, please ensure these are sent with your child.
Just a reminder that concert week in particular is a huge week. Please make sure the students are having a decent night sleep in between rehearsals. Mums with teens you might need to take their phones 😉
It is a fun week and so rewarding when you see their hard work. We hope you’re all getting excited! More specific details and times for rehearsals will be out shortly. Please ask if you are unsure of anything!
