The concert – what to expect in chronological order
Concert Pack
In term 3, the concert pack will be added to your account. The concert pack is $100 for the first student and $65 for each student after that. This fee includes a copy of the concert video, a custom designed T-shirt, a BDA studio photo, and a professionally printed concert program.
Concert Participation Form
At the beginning of term 4 everyone needs to complete the Concert Participation Form. This is a short form where you can indicate your childs concert participation and their shirt size.
Additional Charges
Some additional charges will appear on your account:
- Concert Deposit: Security deposit for hire of costumes ($50 refunded after costumes have been returned)
- Costume Hire: A $55 fee for the hire of a costume for a specific class. Generally there will be a hire fee for each genre, eg if you do tap, jazz and ballet, you will have 3 hire fees.
Program Photos
In the early weeks of this term, profile photos will be taken of all students for the inclusion in the concert program. These photos are quick, casual head shots, no need for any make-up, but hair needs to be neat and tidy.
Costume Collection
The next major milestone in term 4 is the costume collection. Generally this happens about 3 weeks prior to the concert. It is absolutely imperitive that you collect your costumes before the photo weekend. All term fees and costume hire needs to be paid prior to costume collection.
Photo weekend
The photo is a pretty big weekend where individual and group photos are taken. All costumes are tried on and any modifications or changes are noted. The photo weekend is ALWAYS 2 weeks before the concert.

Rehearsals
1 week before the concert, all normal classes stop. The only classes are rehearsals. The dates of rehearsals can be viewed here: Important dates.

Concert
The concert is always on the last weekend in November, held at the Shalom College Performing Arts Precinct. There are 2 shows, one that starts around 12pm, and one that starts at 6pm. All students are required for both shows.
